Cappuccino Smoked Oak Flooring — Amber Golden | Chevron, Herringbone & Boards

Cappuccino is a warm, amber-golden smoked engineered oak flooring — the most golden and warm-toned finish in the PerfektoWood smoked oak range. The ammonia smoking process reacts with the oak's natural tannins to create a rich, glowing amber-golden tone. UV oil is then applied over the smoked base, enhancing the golden warmth and providing surface protection.

Cappuccino has been installed in luxury residential projects in Geneva, Switzerland — including a long plank board installation in a premium apartment where the continuous amber-golden surface across wide 180mm boards created a warm, refined interior. It is regularly specified by architects and interior designers for residential and hospitality projects where a warm, sophisticated floor tone is required.

Colour character: Warm amber-golden — glowing and rich without being dark. Deeper and more complex than natural honey-toned oak, but lighter and more golden than brown or grey smoked alternatives. Natural oak grain remains clearly visible beneath the amber tone. The colour shifts subtly with light — more golden in direct sunlight, deeper amber in lower light.

Pattern options: Cappuccino is available in chevron parquet 45°, chevron parquet 60°, herringbone flooring 90° and straight board formats including wide planks up to 300mm.

Cappuccino — the warmest smoked oak tone

Within the PerfektoWood smoked oak range, Cappuccino is the warmest and most golden option — a distinct choice for projects where warmth and richness are the design goal rather than cool neutrality or deep brown. The ammonia smoking process reacts with the oak's natural tannins to create an amber-golden tone that is unique to this finish — deeper and richer than natural or honey-toned oak, but warm and glowing rather than dark.

All smoked oak finishes in the PerfektoWood collection behave the same way at refinishing: sanding removes the oil layer and the colour. To restore the Cappuccino amber-golden tone, the floor must be re-oiled with a matching colour oil — contact PerfektoWood to confirm the correct oil specification before refinishing.

Why Cappuccino works particularly well in board format

While Cappuccino is available in chevron and herringbone patterns, the Geneva project demonstrates why the wide board format is especially effective with this colour. Long planks (15x180mm, 1200–2400mm length) allow the amber-golden tone to read as a continuous, uninterrupted warm surface — creating a cohesive floor plane that draws the eye across the room.

In the Geneva luxury residential project, the combination of Cappuccino colour, Select grade, wide board format and 4-side bevel created a refined, warm interior suited to the premium aesthetic of the Swiss residential market. The 4-side bevel adds a subtle shadow line between boards, giving visual definition without detracting from the warmth of the overall colour.

  • Select — very consistent amber-golden tone, minimal knots. The preferred choice for luxury residential interiors. Used in the Geneva project.
  • Classic — balanced natural character with moderate grain variation. Tannin differences between boards create subtle variation in the amber tone — adding depth.

Frequently asked questions

What does Cappuccino smoked oak look like?

Warm amber-golden — the most golden of the PerfektoWood smoked oak range. Glowing, rich and warm. Deeper than natural honey oak, lighter and more golden than brown or grey smoked alternatives. Natural grain clearly visible.

How does Cappuccino compare to other smoked oak colours?

Cappuccino is the warmest and most golden smoked oak finish in the PerfektoWood collection. Other smoked oak tones produce grey or brown results — Cappuccino produces a warm amber-golden tone through the oil finish applied over the smoked base.

What happens when Cappuccino is sanded?

Sanding removes the oil layer and the amber-golden colour. To restore the Cappuccino tone, the floor must be re-oiled with a matching amber-golden colour oil. Using a neutral or differently toned oil will produce a different result. Contact PerfektoWood to confirm the correct oil specification before refinishing.

Why does wide board format suit Cappuccino?

Wide planks allow the amber-golden tone to read as a continuous warm surface across large floor areas — more cohesive than a chevron or herringbone pattern. The Geneva project (15x180mm boards, Select, 4-side bevel) demonstrates this effectively.

What grades are available?

Select (consistent amber-golden tone, minimal knots — used in Geneva project), Classic (moderate grain variation) and Rustic (pronounced grain and natural marks). Full grading guide on the grading page.
