Solid oak boards are made from a single piece of natural wood — durable and long-lasting, but sensitive to humidity. Engineered boards have multiple layers with a plywood base, making them more dimensionally stable and compatible with underfloor heating.
With proper maintenance and periodic refinishing, solid oak flooring can last 50 years or more. The 22mm thickness option allows up to 5–8 sanding cycles over the floor's lifetime.
Oiled finish provides the most natural look and is easy to repair locally. Lacquered finish offers the highest durability and lowest maintenance. Hardwax oil is a balanced modern solution combining both benefits.
Yes. Solid oak boards can be sanded and refinished multiple times — typically 5 to 8 times depending on thickness — which significantly extends their lifespan and keeps them looking new.
