Winter Forest engineered oak parquet — pale white-toned, brushed surface, PerfektoWood Lithuania

Winter Forest Engineered Oak Flooring — Chevron, Herringbone & Boards

Winter Forest is a pale, white-toned engineered oak flooring that brings a clean, light quality to any interior. The colour draws on the naturally whitened tones of European oak — creating a bright, airy floor that works equally well in Scandinavian, contemporary and classic interiors. The name reflects the pale, frost-like quality of the finish — white-toned, cool and serene.

Winter Forest is available in two surface options — brushed and sanded — which produce distinctly different visual and tactile results from the same colour. This makes it one of the most versatile finishes in the PerfektoWood collection, suitable for both smooth, minimal interiors and more textured, organic design schemes. It has been installed in residential projects in Prague, Czech Republic, and is regularly specified by architects and interior designers across Central and Northern Europe.

Colour character: Pale white-toned oak, light and airy. The white tone is achieved through UV oil treatment that enhances the natural brightness of the European oak without adding opacity. Natural grain remains clearly visible — giving the floor a living, organic quality despite its pale tone.

Pattern options: Winter Forest is available in chevron parquet 45°, chevron parquet 60°, herringbone flooring 90° and straight board formats.

Brushed vs sanded — which surface to choose

Winter Forest is one of the few finishes in the PerfektoWood range where the surface choice significantly changes the final result. Understanding the difference helps architects and designers specify the right option for each project.

Sanded Winter Forest has a smooth, even surface. The pale white tone is clean and uniform across the board — every detail of the colour is presented without surface texture interference. Sanded is the preferred choice for minimalist, contemporary and Scandinavian-style interiors where a clean, precise aesthetic is required. The smoothness of the surface also makes sanded floors easier to maintain.

Brushed Winter Forest has a textured surface created by wire brushing — a process that removes the softer grain fibres from the board face, leaving the harder growth rings slightly raised. On a white-toned floor, brushing adds a subtle three-dimensional quality — the grain becomes more visible and the surface has a matte, tactile feel. Brushed is the preferred choice for interiors where a more organic, handcrafted quality is desired. The Prague project used the brushed version — see Chevron 60° in Prague for reference.

Available grades

Winter Forest is available in three grades — each with a distinct visual character. Full grading descriptions with photos are available on the Engineered Oak Parquet Grading page.

  • Select — very consistent pale tone, minimal knots, clean and refined appearance. The preferred choice for high-end minimalist and Scandinavian-style interiors.
  • Classic — balanced natural character with moderate grain variation. Adds warmth and depth while maintaining the bright Winter Forest tone.
  • Rustic — pronounced grain, knots and natural marks beneath the white finish. Creates a warm, lived-in quality that contrasts beautifully with the pale colour.

Frequently asked questions

What does Winter Forest engineered oak flooring look like?

Winter Forest is a pale, white-toned engineered oak — bright and airy, with natural grain clearly visible beneath the UV oil finish. Available in brushed (textured) or sanded (smooth) surface — each gives a distinctly different result from the same colour.

What is the difference between brushed and sanded Winter Forest?

Sanded is smooth and precise — ideal for minimalist and Scandinavian interiors. Brushed has a wire-brushed texture that emphasises the grain and gives a more organic, tactile feel. The Prague project used brushed; sanded is preferred for cleaner, more minimal aesthetics.

Is Winter Forest available in chevron and herringbone patterns?
