Dark and near-black oak finishes create maximum visual weight and dramatic character — suited to large spaces and bold interior concepts.

Colour Character Best for
Lava Near-black — the darkest finish in the collection. Pigmented colour oil. Large spaces, high contrast with light walls. Boutique hospitality.

How oak floor colour is created — the three methods

Understanding how colour is applied to engineered oak is important for specification — it affects both the visual result and long-term maintenance.

UV oil (natural colours) — transparent oil applied and UV-cured at the factory. Protects the wood without altering its natural colour. Used for Bisquit, Spring Honey, Silver Grey, Grey Shadow and Winter Forest. The natural oak tone is the floor colour.

Pigmented colour oil — oil with added colour pigment applied and UV-cured at the factory. The colour is in the oil layer. Used for Bronzo (brown), Lava (black) and other colour-treated finishes. Sanding removes the colour — re-oil with the matching colour oil to restore.

Ammonia smoking — the oak is exposed to ammonia vapour before finishing, which reacts with the wood's natural tannins to produce a colour change. Used as the base for Nastro, Cappuccino, Bronzo, Assoluto and other smoked finishes. The oil finish then adds the final colour tone.
